Whiskey Classics Recipe: Opening Cocktail Recipe
In a recent effort to expand our whiskey repertoire, we’ve been trawling the Savoy Cocktail Book for Prohibition era whiskey cocktails. This week, we’re sharing with you a handful of our favorites from this collection of unfamiliar classics.
This one has the rich depth that only grenadine can bring, balanced by the spicy sweet and sour flavor of vermouth.
Instructions
- 2 oz rye whiskey
- 1/2 oz sweet vermouth–we use Boissiere
- 1/2 oz grenadine
Ingredients
- Stir all ingredients with ice (or shake, if your rule is that Craddock knows best) until the ice is well-melted.
- Strain into a cocktail glass.
